Masquerade of Obsession
Jade Christy
Paranormal Romance![]()
I thought escaping Lucien’s obsession would be the hardest thing I’d ever face. But surviving the Red Velvet Masquerade? That might be impossible.
One vampire wants me for revenge. Two want me for power. And one—Sebastian Ravenwood—wants me for love.
I can now read minds, but even I can’t predict who will strike first… or which surprise guest will show up at the Masquerade and turn everything upside down.
Lucien’s revenge was just the beginning… Lilith and Magnus have plans that could trap me forever. And Sebastian. He just wants to save me.
Power. Obsession. Blood. And me, in the middle of it all.
Uncaged Review: This is the third romantasy book in the Obsession for Apt 7A series about vampires, witches, shifters and humans. Alexa Hart is captured by the vampire Lucien. Sebastian is obsessed with Alexa and is blood bound to her in the first two books. Lucien is also obsessed with Alexa too. Lucien plans to break the blood bond that Alexa holds with Sebastian by whatever means necessary, which includes by force too. Alexa must find a way to escape with or without Sebastian’s help. Is their love strong enough to survive a vampire madman who plans to destroy the powerful feelings that both hold for each other or will Lucien bind Alexa to him instead?
I took a little break to read some other books and then was instantly lured back to this story. This book left me with more questions than answers though. I don’t exactly understand the blood bond between Alexa and Sebastian nor how she remains human through all of this. If Sebastian suspected Lucien, why even keep him around? This isn’t a book that you can read separately either. So, you must read it in sequential order to understand what is going on, but even when doing that, the logistics of why Alexa isn’t a vampire now just doesn’t make much sense. That isn’t to say the tale isn’t intriguing and worth reading. I wanted to read it just to find out what is going on with everyone and in the last book, Alexa, was captured, so you were hoping that she would get out of that situation. Do I plan to finish the series? Well, yes, since there is only one more book left and Sebastian’s old love has come back, so it begs the question: will he go back to her or not?
